Susan Schleck Kleiner, Partner, is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in complex matters including construction, environmental, real estate, products liability and toxic tort matters. In addition to her litigation experience, Susan served as general counsel of a closely held pharmaceutical and specialty chemical company where she gained valuable experience in general corporate issues and management, including transactional work, assistance in intellectual property matters, and representing the company in state and federal courts and before local municipal boards. During that time, she also served as manager of human resources, where she assumed primary responsibility for employment matters involving the company, including OSHA compliance issues, work visas for foreign workers, and employment disputes and terminations.
Before joining Langsam Stevens, Susan worked at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP.
She received her bachelor's degree in international studies from The American University in 1992 and graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1995, where she served as the book review editor and technical editor of The Seton Hall Law Review, as well as captain of the Jessup Moot Court Team. After law school, Susan clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Robert E. Wilentz of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Susan remains very active with the Girl Scouts. She currently serves as a board member for the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey and as a leader for the Girl Scout Council of Central & Southern Jersey. In June 2008, she received the “Thanks Badge,” the highest award given to adult volunteers in Girl Scouting, for her years of devotion and service to the organization.
Susan is on the board of directors of the New Jersey Women Lawyer's Association as the co-director of Gender Equity.
Susan is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Women’s Lawyer’s Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.
