Stephen E. Fitzgerald, Associate, represents clients in environmental and complex litigation, including defense of environmental enforcement actions, CERCLA* contribution actions, underground storage tank litigation, Pennsylvania Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act matters, actions under New Jersey Spill Act, toxic tort defense, historic preservation, environmental due diligence, alternative dispute resolution liaison services, insurance matters, land use matters, water and air regulation, class action cases and gaming matters.
During the summer of 2004, prior to joining Langsam Stevens & Silver, Mr. Fitzgerald worked alongside in-house counsel for a Fortune 150 multinational petrochemical corporation on matters involving environmental exposure, toxic torts, acquisitions, products liability, patent licensing, utility easements, and employment law.
Mr. Fitzgerald received his law degree from Widener University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Spring Hill College where he served as the president of the student body and worked with the Legal Services Corporation of Alabama. While pursuing his law degree Mr. Fitzgerald was Research Editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, served the Honorable Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons, Jr. of the Delaware Court of Chancery as a judicial extern and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.
Mr. Fitzgerald is the Executive Secretary of the Delaware Valley Environmental Inn of Court, a member of the Environmental and Toxic Tort Law Committee of the Philadelphia County Bar Association, and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Fitzgerald is a Mentor with Steppingstone Scholars of Philadelphia, a member of the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, an avid triathlete and the firm’s resident Texan.
He is also the co-author, with LSS lawyer David Romine, of Dave and Stephen’s Blog, a blog about environmental law.
